On Saturday morning, the Timberville Police Department and Broadway Police Department shopped with Plains Elementary School students for Shop with a Hero. Shop with a Hero program helps children buy Christmas presents for their families and themselves while building a lasting relationship between the community and local law enforcement.
We’d like to thank Cargill, F&M Bank, Doug Ennis, and Park View Credit Union for their donations, Plains Elementary School counselor Ms. Sevedge for her help in working with the students and their families, Carmina with Walmart for her help with organizing the shopping at Walmart, and all the wonderful helpers who helped the officers shop with the kids.
Lastly, we’d like to give a huge thank you to the Trinity United Church of Christ for setting up bingo for families to play while the children shopped and wrapped.
