On May 26, 2020,  Town Manager Austin Garber declared a local emergency, which followed suit with the declaration made by the County in March. 

On May 26, 2020, the Town Council held a special meeting and adopted the Emergency Ordinance and Resolution that would allow for electronic meetings during the state of emergency as declared by the Governor of Virginia.

The Town of Timberville is working to be a responsible community leader during this sensitive and uncertain time of dealing with the COVID-19 situation. To support compliance with federal and state recommendations the town office will be closed to in-person business transactions until further notice. The town staff will still be working regular schedules to perform core functions, but business will be conducted only by telephone (540-896-7058) and online interaction.

Water bills can be paid online or over the phone using a credit card. Checks, cashier’s checks or money orders can be deposited in the drop box to the right of the front door at the town office. If you need to know your bill amount or have extenuating circumstances that affect your ability to pay please call the town office at 540-896-7058.

Shelter rentals for the month of May and June are cancelled. We are notifying those who have a reservation for the two months.

All other transactions (tax payments, zoning permits, etc.) will have to be conducted through special arrangements. Please call the town office if you have questions about any of these items.
