Normally around the holiday season, the Timberville Police Department organizes Shop with a Hero, an event where local heroes, including police officers, firefighters, and teachers, help Plains Elementary School students shop for their families and themselves at Walmart. Due to the pandemic, however, we decided not to host Shop with a Hero this year.
Instead, the police department has organized a clothing drive for Plains Elementary School. We are asking for donations of lightly used or new winter gear for the local school. The most needed sizes are 4/5t to 10/12. No toys, please.
A drop box has been set up at entrance of Walmart. The drive will run through December 6th. We will deliver the clothing to Plains Elementary School, and they will distribute the donations as needed.
