Coop (2)
In 1921, over 1,000 farmers in Rockingham County gathered to come to a resolution for unfair and unprofitable prices on fertilizer and vowed to cooperatively purchase fertilizer at affordable prices from area suppliers and from that meeting an organization formed of 268 original members in Rockingham County.

Mayor Don Delaughter and Councilman Ned Overton presented the
Rockingham Cooperative the proclamation making February 23, 2021, the day of the original meeting of area farmers in Rockingham County that started the cooperative movement, as Rockingham Cooperative Day in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Cooperative.

Congratulations to the Cooperative as they celebrate 100 years!
