The Town of Timberville hosted National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1st at the American Legion Park. National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday of August throughout the US and is dedicated to spotlighting local police departments and their communities.

Families had the opportunity to meet local agencies and view their equipment, including the Timberville Police Department and their cruisers, Timberville Vol. Fire Department and theire fire apparatuses, Broadway Emergency Squad and their ambulances, Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, and UVA Pegasus and their helicopter.

The Timberville Vol. Fire Department served grilled free hot dogs for guests, and the Boy Scout Troop 1 helped make s'mores with kids. Families were able to play cornhole, visit local businesses booths, have their face painted, enjoy the inflatable by Let's Bouncz Inflatables, view and pet animals at the Heavenly Heart Farm and Mini Petting Zoo, and have their caricature portrait done.
